Alooba started out as a specialist data and analytics assessment platform, but in 2025 expanded to cover all business roles. Alooba was founded in 2019, born out of the founder Tim's own personal frustrations on both sides of the hiring table.
As a hiring manager, Tim found himself spending a tonne of time interviewing candidates who looked amazing on paper, but just didn't have the skills they thought they did.
Tim knew there had to be a better way to screen candidates. Something better than a 500 year old document invented by da Vinci. The answer was in retrospect obvious - screen candidates based on their actual skills, not what they put on their own CV.
With this more objective and fairer way of screening, it was clear Alooba could put a dent in age-old candidate complaints of ghosting and bias, something Tim had experienced as a candidate all too often.
